If you’re still planning a trip to Disney World amid COVID-19 concerns, you’re not alone. Many Disney fans continue to come to the most magical place on Earth. However many are concerned how to protect themselves from germs as much as possible. One of the best ways is to avoid touching surfaces that thousands of other guests have touched.

One surface that is very likely to be overlooked, and that will cause you to touch a surface that is guaranteed to be have been touched by thousands of other people is Disney’s fingerprint scanners.

All of the theme parks at Disney World have utilize scanners where guests scan their MagicBand and fingerprint before entering the park. This has been the customary way that guests have entered the park for years. What you may not know is that you can opt out this process.

Once you are at Disney World, you can visit Guest Relations at the front entrance of each theme park and at Disney Springs. Here you can fill out a form and Disney will make a note on your account that you do not want to use the fingerprint service. This will allow you to enter the parks by showing valid photo ID. (The name of the ID must match the name on the Disney theme park ticket)

If you plan to visit Guest Relations before your first theme park visit, leave extra time. If you are Disney Springs on your first day, we highly recommend visiting their location as the lines are likely to be shorter than the theme park locations.
